West Harns Marsh Phase III

On Wednesday, March 24th, the District hosted a Ribbon Cutting for Phase III of the West Marsh Preserve's Stormwater Treatment Project. The project added 800+ acre-feet of water storage and has decreased Phosphorus and Nitrogen discharges into the Caloosahatchee River. It could not have happened without project partners like Lee County, FDOT, FDEP, SFWMD, AIM Engineering & Surveying, and Quality Enterprises. LA-MSID's Board of Commissioners, District Manager, Assistant District Manager, and project partners ceremonially planted the final 14 trees after the ribbon cutting. Lee County has future plans to turn the preserve into a public park with a pavilion and public restrooms.
