Katy Hoover, CDO

Katyna “Katy” Hoover was elected to the Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District (LA-MSID) Board of Commissioners in November 2016 for a four-year term. She was re-elected in 2020.

Katy hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but has lived in Lehigh Acres for the past 30 years. She has loved watching the community grow and, over the years, has been active in many civic, non-profit, and volunteer associations – including the Girl Scouts and Lehigh Acres Soccer. She is a proud Mother and Grandmother.

Katy is an active member of the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce, where she currently serves on its Executive Board as Secretary. She has a passion for Lehigh Acres and a love of learning. In 1990, she received a certificate of banking operations from Lee County Vo Tech. In 1991, she became a licensed cosmetologist. Katy became a licensed insurance CSR in 2001. In 2002, she became co-owner of L.A. Insurance in Lehigh Acres.

Commissioner Hoover has a thirst for knowledge and dedication to the community in which she serves. She worked very hard to complete a professional credentialing process geared toward elected officials. The Certified District Officials (CDO) Program is offered through the Florida Association of Special Districts and is a rigorous program. Commissioner Hoover earned her designation in 2017.
